So this month seems to have gone by in a flash for me. The beginning of the month felt hectic, the end has been relatively quiet. I turned 26 and got to celebrate in Budapest, but it also prompted me to make some future goals. Sorry for the dodgy collage above, I had no time to shoot photos for this post before heading up to Manchester for the weekend 🙁
Here are some things that were rocking my world this month.
I didn’t pick up anything new this month, except Tom Ford but here’s a selection of some loves this month
Tom Ford Soleil Blanc – This was my birthday present to myself from the duty free at Stansted airport. It smells like the sun!
NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint – I purchased this all the way back in February and wasn’t that impressed. It clung to my dry patches, sunk into my wrinkles. Now the weather is a bit warmer and my face a little oilier, this is starting to work really well for me.
MAC Velvet Teddy – I’ve been wearing more eyeshadow recently and am not brave enough to pair it with a bold lip so this has been a dream for me and has become my go-to neutral. Nicer than a ‘nude’ beige, not too pink so it’s just subtle.
OGX Moroccan Argan Oil – Since my bi-annual haircut at the end of April I’ve been giving my hair more love. Typically, I am very low maintenance with my hair but I bought a hair wand and have been attempting to use it and this oil helps to give me lovely, soft, glowing waves.
I don’t watch huge amounts of TV, but this month I managed to binge watch 2 seasons of a Netflix series! Ok it was Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt which isn’t long in episode or season length, but I enjoyed it a lot. Season 2 wasn’t as good as the first one, but I’d recommend it.
Radiohead – A Moon Shaped Pool
Skepta – Konnichiwa

The Strokes – Future Past Present EP
My long time lovers Jasmin & Gemma for spending a very drunken birthday with me My wonderful boyfriend and friends for their thoughtful birthday gifts Seeing more of my girls. One of my friend’s moving to Leeds (but working in London in the week) has made us all more considerate of making a regular time to just catch up Being able to continue learning new things fills my heart with glee Grateful my former colleagues are so lovely. We went for drinks at the start of the month and it was a joy to catch up But I’m also grateful I’m carving my own path Endless silent thanks to my parents for letting me live rent-free while I settle into my new chapter and try out new things The noticeable feeling of your body getting stronger, and fitter
my bed, always my bed
– Get new portfolio site up! I have been pissing about a bit trying to redo my biz site, michellemay.co.uk, for a while but I need to knuckle down and get the new version up. I launched that version 3 years ago when I went freelance and my skills (and projects) have come on leaps and bounds since then.
– Have the best time ever at Glastonbury. This will be the 4th Glasto and that place fills me with such joy.
– Take more photos!
